An Oasis of the heart

I like to read the Daily Bread in the mornings before I start my day. Today, for some reason, I was disheartened. A feeling of rebellion came over and I shut the book. But I could not shut him out of my life… I realize I have done wrong, by choosing to turn away… it is only futile, because I need him, his presence every moment… I could never go on without him and I pray 'don't abandon me, pls forgive me'. If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself. -2 Timothy 2:13

There are moments in life for all, when we feel overwhelmed and burdened - we wonder if God, our only hope has forsaken us. We feel angry too, because God has all the power to solve our greatest problems in a milli second and we ask - why then? Are'nt u my friend? Am I not ur child? Don’t you love me? We, mortal sinners, can't stand to hurt a loved one or watch helplessly… then how can God?

For some reason we have thought that the life of faith is a life free from troubles. Instead, the life of faith is a life overcoming troubles. The Bible calls trials and tribulations "the testing of our faith" ( 1 Peter 1:7 and James 1:3). Endure in faith and hope… and this too shall pass! Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered. And lo, no one was there.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him from them all. -Psalm 34:19

David recognized God's ever presence and expressed it in Psalm 139.

7. Where can I go from Thy Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Thy presence?
8. If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there;
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there.
9. If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10. Even there Thy hand will lead me,
And Thy right hand will lay hold of me.
11. If I say, "Surely the darkness will overwhelm me,
And the light around me will be night,"
12. Even the darkness is not dark to Thee,
And the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to Thee.

"He promised in his holy Word
That if u seek
He hears the faintest cry"
