Happy thoughts will come rushing

You are a child of God and it is God's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. This kingdom includes everything you need to live an abundant life.

It is God's good pleasure to provide me with an abundant life.

I take a gentle breath and feel God's presence surrounding me and filling me with love. In my mind's eye, I see God lovingly giving me a beautiful package. As I open the package I see that my gift is perfect health & healing, confidence & self-love,
opportunity & wealth, and creativity & special talents. I easily accept these gifts from God that will assure my life is abundant.

I imagine these gifts easily maifesting into my outer life. I see myself enjoying health, confidence, self-love, opportunity, wealth, creativity and special talents. I thank God for these gifts and for meeting my every need. I combine these images with the feelings of joy and let them go, knowing that they will create the good things I am visualizing and thinking.

A prayer of Thanks

Hem your blessings with thankfulness so they don't unravel.
As you reflect on your life you’ll see the mercy of God woven into the tapestry of your experiences. He has graced you with prosperity from his hand, healing from his lips and comfort from his touch. Guard against becoming consumed with the enjoyment of blessings that giving thanks to him becomes simply an afterthought or forgotten. Worship is a lifestyle, not a momentary experience.

A prayer of thanks
by Ralph Waldo Emerson

For each new morning with its light,
Father, we thank you,

For rest and shelter of the night,
Father, we thank you,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything your goodness sends,
Father, in heaven, we thank you.

The Fast before the Nativity

In the Malankara Church, this fast lasts for 25 days, from the first of December till the Christmas day, and all the faithful observe it with great vigour.

Fasting must be undertaken voluntarily and it must be of divine dispensation’. This is the primary teaching of our Church on Fasting. Fasting becomes highly acceptable when it is joined with humility of hearts, charity towards all men and continuous prayers. The Lenten prayers and liturgy of our Church extols this kind of fasting by giving the Old Testament figures as good examples (Moses, Daniel, Elijah etc.).

Fasting is the root by which all the fruits of sanctity are sustained and on this same root grows purity, delights virginity and rejoices patience. Fasting dispels immodesty, controls the lust and offers the body as a holy temple of God. Therefore, the Church exhorts the faithful to love and practice this highly acceptable form of Christian life. Through fasting, the strength of the soul is confirmed, the riches of the body are increased and good aspirations are aroused in the heart.
